Fit + Sizing
The Homebody Cardigan has an oversize classic fit; however, you can fully customize the fit as you work it up.
In the chart below, I’ve given a guide based on industry standard sizing. Find your usual size in the first column and make sure it matches your bust circumference. Then, I’ve indicated a measurement guide for recommended garment circumference and garment width (based on a recommended positive ease of 11-13"). However, note that due to the fully customizable format of this cardigan, no specific sizing instructions are included. Notes are included along the way for where and how to customize the fit.
The sweater sample pictured would be considered a size S (32-34" bust) with approximately 11-13" inches of positive ease. For reference, the model has a 34" bust, is 5'5", and 138lbs, for a cardigan with a finished positive ease of 11".
Size | Bust Circum. | Garment Circum. |
XS | 28-30" | 41" |
S | 32-34" | 45" |
M | 36-38" | 49" |
L | 40-42" | 53" |
XL | 44-46" | 57" |
2XL | 48-50" | 61" |
3XL | 52-54" | 65" |

Materials
You may use anything from Category 1 (fingering weight) through Category 5 (chunky/bulky). Yardage varies depending on yarn selected and size made, but suggestions and guidance for each are included in the pattern pdf.
Other materials you'll need:
proper crochet hook for yarn selected (I used 5.5mm for yarn I used)
tapestry needle
scissors
st markers (optional)
Gauge
Gauge will vary depending on yarn selected. Gauge is not very important. Gauge for yarn I used is 14 dc sts x 7.5 rows = 4" square (blocked)
Yarn Substitutions
The yarn I used is WeCrochet Muse in Inspired. However, many substitutions in many weights could be used. From past customer projects I've seen, I can tell you worsted, aran, and chunky/bulky weight yarns seem to be the most popular preference. A few personal recommendations include:
Chunky/Bulky
Worsted/Aran
DK/Sport
Fingering
